Understanding Weeks and Date Ranges in KPI Trend Visualizations

Last updated: July 23, 2025

When using date range filters with KPI Trend visualizations, you may notice that the displayed date range sometimes differs from your selected dates. This is due to the KPI Trend's week-alignment logic.

How Week Alignment Works

KPI Trend visualizations automatically align to full weeks, with Monday as the start of each week. This means:

  • If you select a start date that falls mid-week (e.g., a Sunday), the visualization will automatically adjust backwards to the previous Monday

  • If you select a Monday as your start date, the visualization will use that exact date

Example

If you select a date range of June 1, 2025 (a Sunday) to June 30, 2025:

  • The KPI Trend will visually adjust the start date to May 26, 2025 (the previous Monday). However, only data starting from June 1, 2025 will be included in the calculation.

  • The end date will remain June 30, 2025

Tip: To avoid automatic date adjustment, you can select a Monday as your start date when setting up date range filters for KPI Trends.
