How to Adjust PDF Export Formatting in Explo

Last updated: January 15, 2025

When exporting dashboards or reports to PDF in Explo, you may encounter formatting issues such as misaligned elements or content spanning across page breaks. This article will guide you through adjusting the PDF formatting to ensure a clean and professional output.

Accessing the PDF Editor

Explo provides a built-in PDF editor that allows you to customize the layout of your exports. To access this feature:

  1. Navigate to the dashboard or report you want to export

  2. Look for a PDF export or edit option (look for the icon near the center top of the editor)

  3. Click on the option to open the PDF editor

Adjusting Layout and Sizing

Once in the PDF editor, you can make several adjustments to improve the formatting:

  • Resize elements: Click and drag the corners or edges of charts, graphs, or text boxes to adjust their size

  • Reposition elements: Click and drag elements to move them to different locations on the page

  • Align with page breaks: Ensure that elements don't span across page breaks by adjusting their position and size

  • Hide components: hide certain components that you don't want to appear on pdf exports

Preview and Export

After making your adjustments:

  1. Use the preview function (if available) to check how your PDF will look

  2. Make any final tweaks as needed

  3. Export your PDF to see the improved formatting

Remember that the PDF editor allows you to customize the layout specifically for exports without affecting the original dashboard view.
