How to Highlight Cells Based on Column Values
Last updated: November 27, 2024
You can use conditional formatting to highlight cells in a table based on values in a specific column. This is useful for drawing attention to cells that meet certain criteria, such as having the maximum or minimum value in a column.
Applying Conditional Formatting
Open the table you want to format.
Select the "Format" tab and scroll down to the columns section.
Click on the column header for the column whose values you want to use for highlighting rows.
Select the "Gradient" option.
In the gradient settings, choose the following options:
Gradient Type: Linear
Calculation: Column
Column Min: The minimum value in the column
Column Max: The maximum value in the column
Click "Apply" to save the conditional formatting settings.
